Volunteers in focus – June

Volunteering with us in the Northern Rivers

As most of you know, we are a volunteer-run, grassroots organisation and mighty proud of this fact. We were founded by a small group of passionate volunteers and continuing to honour their work is of huge importance to everybody involved with Friends of the Koala. Some of our volunteers have been volunteering for thirty years! We wouldn’t be here without them!

We have been thinking about how best to highlight the work that our amazing volunteers do and decided that a regular ‘volunteers in focus’ update would be a great way to present ourselves to you, our lovely readers. This time we are sharing some personal stories about the good people who work tirelessly to save koalas. In future posts we will also share updates from the day-to-day operations, as well as celebrating the wins, training updates and volunteer call-outs.

Below are our volunteers in focus for this month, please get to know the faces behind all the hard work that goes into running our organisation and saving koalas.

Would you like to volunteer with us? If you have a few hours to spare a week, a love of koalas and want to support your local community Friends of the Koala may be the place for you! Call our office on (02) 6621 4664 for more information or to arrange an induction session. Find out more here.
