Last month, we very proudly hosted our inaugural Save the Koala fundraising luncheon. It was a celebratory event at Crystalbrook Byron.
The event kicked off with a glass of bubbly and the opportunity to mingle with other guests, a close-up look at the auction items and raffle prizes, followed by lunch topped off with a cheeky Native Lemon Drop Cocktail consisting of Honey Gin, Limoncello, Lemon Juice and Lemon Myrtle Syrup thanks to Byron Bay Spirit Co.
Special thanks to our guest speaker Geoff Cousins AM for his inspirational talk and to our incredible team for their thought-provoking and uplifting stories.
Thanks also to those who generously supported the event including the stunning selection of artwork and of course our electric auctioneer Dave Eller who worked the room for our amazing cause.
As well as it being a fundraising event, it was an opportunity to celebrate our fluffy friends, the rich diversity of our region, our fantastic community, incredible supporters and to come together to have a positive impact on koalas in the area. It was a remarkably effective, fun and enjoyable way to connect, bring the community together, socialise and raise funds.
We would not be where we are today without our supporters and friends so a HUGE thank you to all, especially to all the new friends we made. With your support, we raised $20,000 at the luncheon event itself and including donations received in the lead up $24,445 towards our Northern Rivers Koala Hospital that we can put to immediate use to save koalas.
