Masterplan – Stage 1

Masterplan

Over the coming months we will launch into stage one of our Masterplan Project development work in East Lismore. This will involve relocating the current outdoor Koala Care Facility into a purpose-built temporary facility onsite, within the parcel of land closer to Cynthia Wilson Drive. The koala care volunteer functions will be relocated into the education room within Burribi, with some of the storage space in the garage being re-allocated to keep necessary equipment close by.

The veterinary team will relocate into the temporary site office, with the professional services staff moving to an office at Southern Cross University to accommodate them. Jackie is currently working her magic to ensure all hospital functions are retained; we are confident that the koalas will get the same 5-star services despite the change of scenery. We are in the process of finalising timelines with various suppliers.

The current plan is to operate out of the temporary facility until we have completed the upgrade and fit-out of the hospital building itself in mid-2022. It’s going to be a challenging to adjust to the upcoming changes, but we each have an important part to play in successfully delivering this project, which will in turn set FOK up for decades to come.
