As the year draws to a close, we are preparing for one of the most important events on our calendar – our Annual General Meeting (AGM). This year’s AGM will be held on Friday 5 December 2025, and we are looking forward to connecting with members, volunteers, and supporters as we reflect on another incredible year for koala conservation in the Northern Rivers.
Marking progress and looking ahead
The AGM is a chance to look back on our achievements and challenges over the past year, from rescues and releases to tree planting and community engagement, and to share what lies ahead for Friends of the Koala as we continue to expand our impact.
Special Guest Speaker
We are thrilled to announce that our guest speaker will be Dr Stephen Phillips, a long-time champion of koala conservation. Dr Phillips is a respected authority on the ecology, conservation, and management of koalas, and has played an important role in Friends of the Koala’s journey, including helping the organisation become licensed to rescue, rehabilitate and release koalas. We are honoured to welcome him back to share his insights and stories.
A time to thank our volunteers
This year’s AGM falls on International Volunteer Day, which couldn’t be more fitting. Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do and we simply would not exist if it wasn’t for such a dedicated and passionate crew, they are the people on the ground making a difference every single day.
