Friends of the Koala President, Rhonda James, Vice President, Lorraine Vass, Superintendent Veterinarian Dr Kate Blake and Veterinary Nurse Iremar Fernandez were among the guests at the official opening and tour of the Southern Cross University Veterinary Science Precinct on the Lismore Campus on Monday 16 March.

The Precinct is home to this year’s inaugural Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours) intake and the Bachelor of Veterinary Technology cohort who started last year. The courses offer local students and students from across Australia the opportunity to live and study regionally, where veterinarians are most needed, in state-of-the-art facilities.

Friends of the Koala’s collaboration with Veterinary Sciences at Southern Cross will commence in April with students attending Friends of the Koala and being tutored by Dr Kate.
