Lismore Koala Crisis Forum

In the last 20 years, koala populations have declined by 50% on the NSW North Coast and are plummeting elsewhere in NSW due to land clearing, logging and development. The good news is that communities are activating to protect our wild koalas and their forest homes with campaigns like the Great Koala National Park and Great Southern Forest.

Join Greens MP Dawn Walker, former Environmental Defenders Office CEO, Sue Higginson, koala expert Dr Steve Phillips and Friends of the Koala President Ros Irwin at this public meeting in Lismore from to learn about the threats facing our wild koala populations and what we can do to save them! This is being organised by the Greens and a short film made by Dawn Walker about the situation facing our native forests and koalas will also be shown on the night.
