Caring for our koalas and our environment conference

The Caring for our Koalas and our Environment Conference at beautiful Port Macquarie from June 7-8 is your chance to learn more about koala conservation, the latest research, solutions, education programs, and the draw of nature-based tourism. The conference is part of a packed Hello Koalas Festival line-up from June 7-11, based around gold medal-winning Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail, which combines art and environmental in the form of 62 one-metre high individually hand-painted and themed koala sculptures.
The conference, at Sails Port Macquarie, is for anyone who cares about koalas and preserving our environment, and will feature expert speakers from the Koala Hospital, Taronga Zoo, the Koala Health Hub, Planet Ark, Threatened Species Conservation Programs and the NSW Koala Strategy, Forestry, National Parks, Sydney Museum, and more, plus field trips to local attractions and an artist-led tour of the sculpture trail.

The five-day family-friendly festival includes everything from an Abba tribute concert to classic cars,
high teas, markets, a picnic, ballet, meet the artists and beyond, all based around the koala and
koala conservation awareness in the home of the largest koala population on the east coast of
Australia.
